Chiropractic is ‘a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.’

(World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) Dictionary Definition 2001)

Chiropractic is the largest form of alternative medicine in the world and was first founded in the 1890’s.  It’s a manual therapy where gentle manipulation and mobilisation is used to remove restrictions and improve mobility of joints in the spine and limbs.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Sports massage is a therapy concerned with soft tissues of the body.  It uses massage techniques to help alleviate stress and tension that builds up in the muscles, improve flexibility, strength and posture, and aid the recovery from injuries.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Holistic massage also concerns the soft tissues of the body.  It uses techniques similar to a sports massage but is designed much more for relaxation and wellbeing rather than to treat specific problems.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Reflexology is an application of massage applied to pressure points on the feet, and sometimes the hands to relieve stress, promote healing and improve wellbeing.  It works on the basis that there are zones and reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to areas in the body, and through the nervous system this stimulates physiological normalization of the body as a whole.  The treatment includes a foot massage.

Indian head massage is a form of massage applied to the face, head, scalp, neck and shoulders.  It is designed for relaxation and treatments are done seated.  It is an integral part of the Ayurvedic healing system that originated in India many years ago and has been passed down through the generations.

Hopi ear candling is also known as thermo-auricular therapy and it is a therapy that uses special hollow candles inserted into the ear canal.  The candles are made by hand from the best natural ingredients, such as cotton, beeswax, honey extracts and essential Aroma essences.  They are used to treat such ailments as coughs, colds and flu, sore throats, sinusitis and stress.

Treatments include a face, head neck and shoulder massage.

Nicola really helped with my lower back pain.  I train for long distance walks and Nicola got me back on the road after an injury and now keeps me moving whenever I have a problem.  Absolutely amazing, thanks Dr Happé and Brockenhurst Chiropractic!

I am a Pilates teacher and have been treated by Nicola many times.  I recommend many of my clients to go see Nicola to help with their alignment alongside their Pilates lessons.  I would thoroughly recommend Brockenhurst Chiropractic!

One day I woke up with a very sore neck that hurt when I moved it.  P.E. at school made it worse but after I saw Nicola, it felt much better.

I had a very sore hip and it hurt when I moved.  Nicola noticed that my pelvis had twisted so she did some adjustments and I went trampolining that afternoon.
