Chiropractic

Chiropractic is ‘a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.’

(World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) Dictionary Definition 2001)

Chiropractic is the largest form of alternative medicine in the world and was first founded in the 1890’s.  It’s a manual therapy where gentle manipulation and mobilisation is used to remove restrictions and improve mobility of joints in the spine and limbs.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a therapy concerned with soft tissues of the body.  It uses massage techniques to help alleviate stress and tension that builds up in the muscles, improve flexibility, strength and posture, and aid the recovery from injuries.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Holistic Massage

Holistic massage also concerns the soft tissues of the body.  It uses techniques similar to a sports massage but is designed much more for relaxation and wellbeing rather than to treat specific problems.  All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.
